About Judge Spencer Eig
A Life in Service to Justice
Judge Spencer Eig has devoted his professional life to the law — from the halls of the U.S. Department of Justice and The White House to the courtrooms of Miami-Dade County. Since 2005, he has served with distinction on the 11th Judicial Circuit, presiding over Juvenile Dependency and Criminal Divisions.
Before taking the bench, Judge Eig served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in New Orleans, a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C., and as an attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice — earning "Outstanding" performance appraisals at both agencies. He also served during the Office of the Presidential Transition at The White House and gave back to the community as Adjunct Faculty at Miami-Dade College.
